JavaScript RegExp m Modifier

The RegExp m Modifier in JavaScript is used to perform multiline matching. It takes the beginning and end characters (^ and $) as working when taking over multiple lines. It matches the beginning or end of each line. It is case-sensitive.

Syntax:

/regexp/m

new RegExp("regexp", "m")

Example 1: This example searches the word “zambiatek” at the beginning of each line in a string.

function geek() {
    let str1 = "zambiatek is the computer "
        + "science portal for zambiatek.";
    let regex4 = /^zambiatek/gm;
    let match4 = str1.match(regex4);
 
    console.log("Found " + match4.length
        + " matches: " + match4);
}
geek();

Output

Found 1 matches: zambiatek

Example 2: This example searches the word “zambiatek” at the beginning of each line in a string and replaces it with “GEEKSFORGEEKS”.
