Samsung Galaxy S25 FE may juice up faster than you’d expect

Samsung has made little to almost no improvements to the charging speeds on its devices in recent years. Its Ultra flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, supports 45W wired fast charging speeds, while the $2,000 Galaxy Z Fold 7 tops out at a mere 25W. Typically, Samsung has limited its budget devices to 25W charging speeds as well, though thankfully, this seemingly won’t be the case with the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE.
A TUV listing of the SM-731, which Samsung will supposedly sell as the Galaxy S25 FE, points to the device featuring DC 10V 4.5A or 15V 3A charging support. Based on this, Samsung’s next Fan Edition Galaxy could support charging speeds of 45W, up from the S24 FE‘s 25W. For comparison, the base Galaxy S25 is also limited to only 25W charging speeds. So, the Fan Edition will trump it in at least one area.
Keeping Samsung’s fast charging implementation in mind, don’t expect a big reduction in the total charging time. Even if the S25 FE packs a bigger battery, it will likely charge to around 70% in 30 minutes. After that, expect the charging speed to slow significantly, with the phone possibly taking another 20–25 minutes to attain a full charge.
That’s how Samsung’s fast charging works on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which, despite supporting 45W input, takes 55 minutes to top up its 5,000mAh cell to full.
The listing does not mention the wireless charging speeds, but there’s little reason to believe the Korean company will bump it beyond 15W — the same as its other devices. If anything, the company could add Qi2 ‘Ready’ support, ensuring support for magnetic accessories through compatible cases.
Galaxy Tab S10 Lite may not impress you with its charging speed
SammyGuru also spotted the TUV listing of the Galaxy S10 Lite, indicating it will support wired charging speeds of up to 25W. That’s the same as Samsung’s last budget tablet and slower than the 45W speeds supported by the other members in the Tab S10 family.
Samsung should take the wraps off the Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S10 Lite in October this year. It may also unveil its first tri-folding device at the same event.
