Amazon’s Big Deal Days event kicks off the holiday shopping season early on October 7

Summer’s coming to a close, which means the start of the final quarter of 2025. It’s almost hard to believe just how quickly time has flown by, and while most of the big tech announcements have come and gone already, we still have a few more left to look forward to.
With that said, it’s also time when we start hearing and seeing more about special sales events, offering huge discounts on some of our favorite tech. While Black Friday is still a few months off, Amazon is kicking off things in October with its annual Prime Big Deal Days event.
What is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days?
If you’ve never heard of Prime Big Deal Days, it’s a special sales event that’s aimed towards Amazon Prime members. This year’s event will take place on October 7 and 8, 2025. And while we’ll be highlighting some of our favorite tech products on sale, the retailer will also offer heavy discounts on other product categories as well.
How do I take advantage of all the promotions?
In order to take advantage of the special sales from Amazon, you will need to be an Amazon Prime member. This includes standard members, along with student, senior and other accounts as well.
How do I sign up for Amazon Prime?
You just need to head to the website, and sign up. Amazon does offer a free 30-day trial of Prime membership for those that have never had it before. If you’ve had Prime previously, there’s still the possibility you can be eligible for a trial, but you won’t know until you try and sign up.
As mentioned before, there are certain types of accounts that can get Prime for less, like students, and there’s also a Qualified Government Assistance account as well.
What do I get as an Amazon Prime member?
In addition to access to the sale, you also get free expedited shipping on products from Amazon. You also get access to Prime Video, which includes shows and movies that you can watch on your phone, TV, or other product that supports streaming.
Prime membership also includes access to music, online cloud storage, Grubhub+, and more. It’s not a bad membership to have if you’re someone that likes to shop online. The last sales event was pretty good, so if you’re looking to save, you’ll want to stay tuned.
Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime has long since evolved from the days when it merely offered free two-day shipping and a burgeoning library of original shows. Prime now includes a music service, one of the most robust TV show and movie streaming services on the market, unique deals for its members — like free Twitch subscriptions and exclusive Whole Foods discounts — plus access to exclusive deals, especially on Amazon’s unofficial-official holidays, like the upcoming Prime Big Deal Days.
