Motorola Razr+ (2025) smiles for the cameras in an extensive leak
Summary
- An elaborate leak has given us our first real look at the Motorola Razr+ (2025) and its overall design.
- Motorola is expected to offer similar internal hardware on the upcoming foldable as the 2024 Razr+, with the key difference being the use of the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
- The Razr+ (2025) is expected to launch sooner than last year’s model, though there’s no official launch date available yet.
The Motorola Razr+ (2024) was easily among our favorite foldable smartphones of 2024 and continues to be the best flip foldable phone you can get today. But as we’ve known since November, a successor is in the works — presumably named the Razr+ (2025). Following up on reports that the 2025 iteration of the Razr+ would launch sooner than its predecessor, a new leak is giving us our best look yet at the upcoming flip foldable by Motorola.
No Thanks, Keep Reading
The folks at Android Headlines have exclusively obtained and published a series of official-looking images of the 2025 Razr+ (codename Orion), giving us an excellent look at the foldable from most angles. A total of eight images are available for our perusal in a green colorway, which is hard to differentiate from the Spring Green shade of the Razr+ (2024).
We’re not seeing much on the design front to suggest Motorola has made many changes. Although there’s only one color of the smartphone shown here, it’s possible that Motorola will continue to use the vegan leather finish on all Razr+ (2025) models.
Don’t expect any big surprises in the hardware department
Hardware details shared by Android Headlines suggest that Motorola may outfit the same 6.9-inch pOLED foldable screen while the spectacular 4-inch OLED cover display may also be retained. Unsurprisingly, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to be the chipset of choice on the Razr+ (2025), with Motorola likely opting for the foldable-friendly seven-core variant. While the dual rear/cover screen cameras look identical to last year’s model, it’s unclear if the company has opted for different sensors for the 2025 model.
Lastly, the same 4,000mAh battery pack is expected to keep the Razr+ (2025) ticking, potentially with the same wired and wireless charging speeds of 45W and 15W, respectively. Given the possible use of the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite variant, the foldable might eke out more from the battery than the Razr+ (2024). However, we can’t say this for sure until we have our hands on the device over the next few months.
RAM and storage options are expected to be unchanged, too, though we hope to be surprised in this department. We were quite disappointed with Motorola only offering the 2024 Razr+ in a solitary 256GB storage version, despite a 512GB version being available in non-US markets. Let’s hope Motorola remedies that situation with the 2025 iteration of the Razr+.
Motorola is also likely working on a cheaper Razr foldable to succeed the Razr (2024), though there’s not much info on this front. While there’s word that the 2025 Razr foldables could arrive sooner than their predecessors did last year, we don’t have a specific date to mark on our calendars yet.
