PyQt5 – Setting skin to unchecked RadioButton

In this article we will see how we can set skin to the unchecked check box. By default there is no image/skin associated with the radio button, this skin will appear when radio button will be in checked state. In order to add skin to the radio button for checked state, we have to change the style sheet of the radio button. Below is the style sheet code.
QRadioButton::unchecked
{
background-image : url(image.png);
}
Below is the implementation.
Python3
# importing librariesfrom PyQt5.QtWidgets import *from PyQt5 import QtCore, QtGuifrom PyQt5.QtGui import *from PyQt5.QtCore import *import sysclass Window(QMainWindow): def __init__(self): super().__init__() # setting title self.setWindowTitle("Python ") # setting geometry self.setGeometry(100, 100, 600, 400) # calling method self.UiComponents() # showing all the widgets self.show() # method for widgets def UiComponents(self): # creating a radio button self.radio_button = QRadioButton(self) # setting geometry of radio button self.radio_button.setGeometry(200, 150, 120, 40) # setting text to radio button self.radio_button.setText("Radio Button") # changing style sheet code of radio button # setting skin for unchecked radio button self.radio_button.setStyleSheet("QRadioButton::unchecked" "{" "border-image: url(image.png);" "}")# create pyqt5 appApp = QApplication(sys.argv)# create the instance of our Windowwindow = Window()# start the appsys.exit(App.exec()) |
