OnePlus confirmed that it’s about to launch a gaming beast
It’s not every day that a smartphone brand calls its upcoming device(s) frightening, but that’s exactly what OnePlus is doing.
The Shenzhen, China-based tech giant just confirmed something we heard whispers of back in October, and no, it’s not the successor to the OnePlus 15. Instead, it’s a completely new line.
OnePlus confirmed that it is indeed “about to launch” a new Turbo series that will combine the tech giant’s flagship prowess with top-of-the-line gaming features (via GSMArena).
OnePlus executive Li Jie Louis officially announced the OnePlus Turbo Series on Weibo, saying that the line will “inherit the flagship’s powerful performance genes, lead the strongest battery life in its class, and deliver an unprecedented gaming experience in its price range.”
This isn’t just OnePlus launching a new line, it’s the Chinese tech giant declaring war on the mobile gaming market.
The arrival of the new OnePlus Turbo is bound to become a product with “frighteningly strong” performance, battery life, and gaming experience in its segment!
Although not explicitly mentioned, previous leaks and rumors did suggest that the OnePlus Turbo’s headline feature will be an 8,000mAh capacity battery, complete with the efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and a fancy cooling system.
As of right now, it isn’t entirely clear whether the new Turbo series will be sold outside of China. Additionally, while Louis did say that the company is “about to launch” the new series, it isn’t very likely that it’ll arrive within 2025.
While not connected to the upcoming series, Louis also added that OnePlus will finish 2025 with an impressive year-on-year growth of more than 40 percent. He then added that the company will explore the upper limit of gaming performance in 2026, suggesting that the Turbo series won’t be launched until next year.
